• An American trade delegation displays its experiences in airport management in the Asharqia Chamber

    ​Member of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber and Chairman of the Logistics Committee of the Eastern Chamber, Bandar Bin Rafie Al Jabri, affirmed the strong relations between the Kingdom and the United States of America and the depth of trade and economic relations.​

    Al-Jabri said during the meeting of the American trade delegation that was held on Monday, December 9, 2019, at the headquarters of the Chamber, and in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Abdul-Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khaldi, that the Kingdom is witnessing a significant economic and industrial boom, as the world is witnessing the development in the logistical sector, in order to achieve the goals of seeing the Kingdom 2030, stressing that the kingdom currently owns 27 airports, including 13 international airports and 14 domestic airports, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation is responsible for safety, operations, and navigation services at all these airports. In addition, there are a number of domestic and international airports on a large scale in the Kingdom. A number of new airports have also been implemented, such as King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Bayoum Neum Airport in the northern part of the Kingdom. The Red Sea airport, which is designed to serve about one million tourists annually, is expected to start operating by 2022​.

    ​The meeting was attended by member of the Board of Directors Najeeb bin Abdullah Al-Saihati, the Secretary-General of the Chamber Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabil and the CEO of the American-Saudi Business Council Del Roosevelt and the head of the Saudi side in the council, Abdullah bin Saleh Juma, and the American consul in Dhahran Rachna Kurhonen.​

    Roosevelt said that the main goal of the meeting is to search for promising investment opportunities and feasible projects offered by the most prominent manufacturers operating in the airports sector, that there are great commercial opportunities in the Saudi aviation industry.
    For this part, Jumah said that the American-Saudi Business Council has played an important role in developing and expanding trade cooperation between American and Saudi companies over the past 25 years since its establishment in 1993. The Council has organized many successful business development missions to the Kingdom.​
